Kike, Contributor to TheSoulcialista

Born in New York City and raised in Charlotte, NC, Kike Aluko (www.kikealuko.com) fell in love with music very early when she began playing the piano at the age of 3. She continued to cultivate this love of music in college, where she focused on Music, Science, and Technology and began her career in the music industry by interning at Interscope Records and Sony Pictures Entertainment. After college, Kike continued to pursue her love of music by creating her own personal blog. The blog initially focused on music from her father's home country, Nigeria, but eventually expanded to cover a wide range of music to reflect her extremely diverse tastes. After running her blog for a few years, Kike began contributing to several other online publications, both domestically and internationally. As a music journalist, she has interviewed several internationally-recognized artists including GRAMMY-nominees Luke James and Mali Music, while she continues to uncover the best up & coming talent from across the world.

Kike currently lives in Washington, DC, where she frequently volunteers for The Recording Academy and other live music events. She is also working to get an audio engineering certificate at The House Studio DC and serves as a member of the sound production team at The District Church.
